History

PES was born as the People’s Education Society in 1965, to provide
education to underprivileged children. We have grown into one of India’s
leading universities, but our values of Perseverance, Education and Service,
remain unchanged.

In 1965, Professor MR Doreswamy built a school for the children of Thyagarajanagar, Bengaluru. The school began with 40 children.
